Service Description

This workshop is for young women who are interested in learning more about menstruation and exploring their creativity through art. We will read from the First Moon Manual, a collection of letters, art, and poetry emotionally supporting menstruation. We will also create our own art in the form of a letter, a poem, or a drawing. The goal of this workshop is to help young women feel more informed, empowered, and positive about their menstrual cycles. Activities: Read from the First Moon Manual Briefly talk about the different aspects of menstruation, such as the menstrual cycle, period products, and menstrual health Explore the emotional and physical changes that can happen during menstruation Create art or write poetry about menstruation Share experiences and stories about menstruation Outcomes: Participants will have a better understanding of menstruation and its impact on the body and mind. Participants will be able to express their creativity through art. Participants will feel more empowered and positive about their menstrual cycles. Audience: This workshop is for young women ages 12-18. Facilitator: The workshop will be facilitated by J.M. Medellin, creative author behind First Moon Manual. Length: The workshop will be between 45 minutes to 2 hours depending on your time constraints. Cost: The cost of the workshop is $25 per participant and includes a copy of the First Moon Manual.
